SUSTAINABILITY AND FAMILY VALUES: TRADITION AND INNOVATION AS THE FOUNDATION FOR BUILDING GLOBAL LEADERSHIP

Nordmeccanica is the world’s leading manufacturer of coating, laminating, and metallizing machinery. For over 40 years, the company based in Piacenza has combined specialized know-how in the packaging sector with continuous product research and innovation.

HISTORY AND KEY FIGURES

The story of Nordmeccanica is one of success, the result of 40 years of challenges and investment in continuous improvement.

From the first models built in the 1970s to the futuristic Triplex SL One-Shot, Nordmeccanica has experienced steady growth, increasing both its production capacity and exports: from an initial 3,000 m² to today’s 35,000 m². Annual production now reaches nearly 250 units, with more than 4,000 machines installed worldwide.

In 2024, Nordmeccanica surpassed €100 million in revenue, with exports accounting for 90% of the total, confirming the company's strong international focus and its role as a global player in the industry.

Today, the company operates across four continents, with facilities in Piacenza, New York, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Buenos Aires, and a network of representatives in 87 countries around the world.

The Group's structure and ongoing managerial evolution still center around the Cerciello family: Antonio serves as President, while his sons Vincenzo (Vice-President) and Alfredo (CFO) lead the strategic functions of commercial and finance.

PRODUCTS AND APPLICATION SECTORS

Nordmeccanica specializes in manufacturing machines for specific phases of the packaging process, offering solutions based on intended use:

● Combi Technology Machines: Two-layer lamination and coatings/functional coatings, designed for maximum modularity and functionality, tailored to the customer's production needs.

● Solventless Technology Machines: Two- or three-layer lamination using solvent-free adhesives, with models such as Simplex, Duplex, and Triplex, which differ in productivity and layout flexibility.

● Vacuum Metallizing Machines: Consolidated vacuum technology enhanced by innovative solutions to ensure fast coating turnaround times.

All Nordmeccanica machines are developed with a customer-centered approach, ensuring:

● Maximum flexibility through a wide range of tailor-made solutions, designed for individual customer needs

● Modularity of space and functions

● High technological innovation focused on reducing consumption and boosting performance

● Strong focus on sustainability and the use of materials with low environmental impact

The added value of Nordmeccanica’s solutions lies in its internal know-how: the company’s proprietary technologies and patents represent a true market differentiator.

The production lines are highly digitalized. Models equipped with artificial intelligence are configured using data analysis protocols capable of monitoring over 100 parameters related to materials, processes, and working conditions. These machines autonomously adapt their operational settings in response to changes in materials and operational conditions through continuous learning (machine learning).

The aim of these systems is to produce multi-layer, solvent-free packaging films that are 100% recyclable and fully compliant with European packaging regulations.

Key application sectors include food, chemicals, medical, and pharmaceuticals, as well as special roll-to-roll applications where packaging quality and production performance are strategic factors.
